Our Diary

Alvechurch Morris have finished their traditional August break, as we have done every August for more than 25 years now so it must be traditional! We will be performing at various places during the rest of 2016 and in 2017 so please come and see us and say "Hello!".

Saturday 15th October 2016 - Lichfield Festival of Folk - Dancing around Lichfield.
"The Lichfield Festival of Folk, otherwise known as L2F, is an annual event from Lichfield Arts and held mainly in the historic Lichfield Guildhall and its environs. Its aim is to provide the opportunity to appreciate the very best in Folk Music in a friendly and welcoming environment. It is inclusive and inspirational, allowing people to participate in folk-related activities and to encourage local arts and heritage organisations to celebrate with the community at large the traditions of the British Isles."

Saturday 22nd October 2016 - Pecsætan Day of Dance, Sheffield
"Pecsætan (Pec – suh – tan). Finding a name for the side was the biggest headache of our first year. After much friendly(ish) debate, democracy left us with a name no one can spell, pronounce or remember, yet it was the name that none of us hated the most. Pecsætan is the name of an Anglo-Saxon tribe, meaning "dwellers of the Peak District". We've been called many things over the years, including "Pesky-tan"!"

Sunday 1st January 2017 - Mummer's Play at The Crown at Withybed Green
"Start the year with a good old Mummer's Play. Written anew, almost, every year and never knowingly over-rehearsed and frequently acted with a certain degree of spontaneity."

Thank you for visiting our diary page and we hope to see our friends, old, new and maybe some friends we haven't met yet, during the year, please come back soon and we will have more details of our plans for 2016 and beyond.
